Full-time position: Onsite employment in Gladwin, Michigan

Position Summary and Expectations

Chic Boutique is looking for someone that is motivated and takes the initiative, works well with other like-minded individuals, has a passion for customer service, and is efficient in operating Chic Boutique at Riverwalk Place. The manager of Chic Boutique should be energetic, personable, and professional.

About Chic Boutique and Riverwalk Place

It’s our mission to provide a successful shopping experience for local members of our community and for the many tourists that visit or stay at Riverwalk Place Resort & Spa in Gladwin. Chic Boutique is one of the five businesses within Riverwalk Place that play a crucial role in making all of the guests at Riverwalk Place have an outstanding experience. We carry high-quality, trendy clothing, jewelry, gifts, accessories, and more items that are up to date and desired by our typical guests. All of the businesses located in Riverwalk Place collaborate to create a location that offers many amenities onsite – we have created a strong team and environment adored by guests throughout the Midwest.

Qualifications

  • Three years of clothing retail experience
  • One year of experience managing a team
  • Knowledgeable in the operation of a “point of sale” software system
  • Have excellent customer awareness skills
  • Have outstanding communication skills

 

MANAGER TOP DUTIES AND TASKS

Management Requirements

  • Interview and hire sales associates
  • Train newly-hired sales associates
  • Schedule and lead monthly or semimonthly meetings as necessary to train and provide updates for the sales team
  • Provide incentives and motivation for sales team
  • Prepare monthly work schedules for sales team
  • Manage time-off requests
  • Manage time cards
  • Be available to cover shifts when all associates are unavailable
  • Provide and monitor daily communication log book
  • Reinforce policies and guidelines as outlined in Employee Handbook

Floor and Sales Management Requirements

  • Oversee all merchandising and displays in store and windows, including obtaining supplies for displays
  • Ensure that store is neat and organized and clean at all times
  • Ensure that store is stocked and restocked as needed
  • Plan and prepare for store events and purchase supplies as needed

Inventory and Orders

  • Monitor inventory and advise buyers; provide suggestions or need for new items
  • Perform markdowns on items as needed
  • Unpack shipments and receive orders in system
  • Know how to and be aware of balancing invoices and receipts and contact vendors regarding discrepancies and damages
  • Handle damaged inventory and inventory adjustments; repair damages if possible
  • Prepare and perform Annual Physical Inventory with entire sales team

Administrative Duties

  • Consult regularly with buyers
  • Provide/make copies of paperwork and forms, coupons, special order sheets, etc.
  • Maintain and monitor petty cash
  • Order or purchase office, cleaning, and store supplies
  • Monitor bag, box and wrapping tissue inventory and order as needed.  Provide inventory report to Accounting Department
  • Fulfill and handle special orders and telephone orders
  • Send bimonthly inventory report to inventory manager

Marketing

  • Attend weekly marketing meeting and relay information to sales associates as needed
    • Riverwalk Place holds weekly marketing meetings to stay up to date on everything in the building and offer support from business to business.
  • Provide weekly statistical reports at the marketing meeting
  • Prepare items for photography and advertising that our marketing team will post
  • Plan and present weekly Facebook Live, featuring new inventory and/or events and updates
  • Work with our marketing team to respond to customer questions on social media

Customer Relations

  • Maintain positive relationships with customers and ensure a positive experience
  • Contact customers as needed with inquiries or issues
  • Maintain customer database and provide the list as necessary to the marketing team
